Our hospice team is made of amazing individuals who all support each other and make you feel part of the Lily team. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide on-call coverage for our hospice patients. The ideal candidate is capable of promoting comfort and well-being in the patient. The registered nurse is responsible for providing patient care, administering medications and following the care plan created by the physician and the hospice interdisciplinary team. Description

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to urgent patient calls and requests for assistance.
  • Assess patient conditions and provide necessary interventions or referrals.
  • Collaborate with the hospice team to develop appropriate care plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families as needed.
  • Document all patient interactions and interventions accurately and timely.


Duties:

  • When on-site, perform clinical duties such as:
  • Administering medications and treatments
  • Monitoring vital signs
  • Managing pain and other symptoms
  • Providing wound care and other necessary procedures


Qualifications:

  • Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with a current state license (Required)
  • Valid Driver’s License (Required)
  • Experience: Previous experience in hospice or palliative care, preferred.
  • Certifications: Hospice and Palliative Care Certified Nurse (HPCCN), preferred.
  • Skills: 
  • Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor.


Additional Considerations:

  • On-Call Schedule: The nurse will work a 7-day on, 7-day off schedule.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and transfer patients, as needed.
  • Emotional Demands:  The role can be emotionally demanding, and it's important to have effective coping strategies.
