Liftology Houston Metro is seeking a skilled, customer-focused Licensed Elevator Mechanic / Accessibility Technician to join our growing team in the Greater Houston area! In this vital role, you will perform the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of home elevators, vertical platform lifts, stairlifts, patient lifts, and ramps in residential and commercial spaces. We are looking for a hands-on professional with a valid state elevator mechanic license (or 3+ years of verifiable industry experience eligible for licensure), strong mechanical/electrical aptitude, and a passion for helping seniors and individuals with disabilities live safely and independently. Type: Full-Time (Monday – Friday, approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Compensation: $32–$50/hour (depending on experience) + healthcare allowance, paid time off, and clear career progression. Description

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Installation, maintenance, & troubleshooting of elevators, vertical platform lifts, stairlifts, overhead patient lifts, auto lifts, ramps, and other accessibility equipment both residentially and commercially. Brands include Bruno, Harmar, National Ramp, Human Care, Savaria, Pollock, PVE, and other residential elevators.
  • We are specifically looking for candidates who have experience working with home elevators (ASME 17.1 and 17.7) and light commercial mobility/accessibility lifts (ASME 18.1).
  • Assist in the evaluation of projects at clients' homes and on commercial sites.
  • Work with clients & manufacturers throughout the installation and service process.
  • Evaluations and installations will be throughout the Houston Metro area (company vehicle & tools are provided).
  • Minimal travel required (primarily localized to the Greater Houston area, with occasional regional travel for specialized manufacturer training).
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for occasional after-hours or emergency service calls as the business grows.


Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • State elevator mechanic’s license with relevant experience, demonstrated ability, and knowledge in the industry.
  • OR 3 years verifiable work experience in the industry installing the equipment listed above with the eligibility and capacity to secure a state elevator mechanic’s license (may require sitting for an elevator license test).
  • Strong mechanical ability, understanding of electronics, and experience with electrical wiring and theory.
  • The capability of reading and understanding basic wiring diagrams, factory shop drawings, and construction blueprints.
  • Visual ability to read materials such as installation manuals.
  • Competence working with a wide assortment of tools.
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate small objects.
  • Comfortable working in tight spaces (hoistways, crawl spaces, attics), on ladders/scaffolding, and in varying residential and commercial construction environments.
  • Must be able to safely lift 100 lbs and get in and out of a service vehicle without trouble.
  • Strict adherence to company safety protocols, including the mandatory use of provided PPE (safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and fall protection when required).
  • Professional appearance, strong customer service mindset for entering private residences, and punctuality.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and maintain basic computer literacy.
  • Requires a clean driving record, reliable transportation, and a current valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a background check and alcohol/drug tests.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish speaking) is a strong plus!


Hours:

  • Approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday (hours may occasionally vary depending on job requirements).
