The core function of this position is to gain experience in journalism and entertainment reporting while working with The Western Journal. Skills to be developed during the internship include, but are not limited to news aggregation, professional written reporting, and conducting interviews. We are accepting applicants for remote work from home (U.S. residents only, excluding California, Colorado, and Ohio) or at our main office located in North Phoenix in Arizona. This is a paid 40 hour/week, 12 week internship opportunity. The pay for this position is $13.85/hour. We are a 7-day a week operation and you may be required to work weekends. We are flexible with internship start dates.

Responsibilities:
- Aggregates information from sources and communicates those facts proficiently.
- Investigates and researches claims to determine their validity and relevance.
- Reports news stories objectively and accurately in keeping with the company’s stated mission, which is to drive positive cultural and social change through media.
- Collaborates with editorial staff to select content for publishing on the basis of relevance, value to the reader, and timing.
- This internship is focused on writing specifically on the topics of gaming and technology with a Biblical worldview.
Qualifications:
- No vaccination requirement
- Exceptional written communication skills
- News Junkie - interest in reporting and current events related to gaming and technology
- Exceptional internet research skills to investigate claims
- Team player with excellent interpersonal/collaboration skills
- If pursuing a Bachelor’s degree:
- Junior or Senior standing
- 2.5 GPA or higher

Salary
$13.85 - $13.85 per hour
