Our team is recruiting Security officers tasked with securing the premises and personnel by patrolling, monitoring surveillance equipment, performing building inspections, guarding entry points, and verifying visitors.

We are currently recruiting for Special Police Officers and Security Officer looking for the opportunity to join our team. 

 

Basic Security Duties

Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle and notate findings during these patrols. Politely inform violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles. Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards. Sound alarms or call police or fire/EMS in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Prepare security reports for daily activity, incidents, maintenance and suspicious activities. Permit authorized individuals to enter property and monitors entrances and exits. Assist clients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

 

Training

All Officers are required to complete training at the commencement of employment and periodically through out the year to maintain proficiency in their role as an officer and sharpen their skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience

Must have a high school diploma or GED

Candidate must be 21 years or older

Can obtain a DC SPO/SO License

 

PREFERRED SKILLS

Effective oral and written communication skills with clients and team members

Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or CCTV monitors.

Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.

Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately.

Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively.

Attention to detail and strong active listening skills.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members of the organization.

  

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires working outdoors and indoors and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for long periods of time. Team member may be exposed to the elements and inclement weather while on shift. LGC issues weather appropriate uniform gear for some protection from the elements.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs and lift 15 – 30lbs without issue. This position consists of shift work. Typical shifts are 4 – 8 hours per day, a mixture of day and evening shifts required by the client site.

Salary

$18.75 - $19.5 per hour
