Description

Can you collect what’s owed without burning the relationship? Do you hear “no” as the start of the conversation, not the end of it?

Founded in 2016, LeasePoint Funding Group is a commercial equipment finance and vendor finance company based in Austin. We process more than 10,000 applications a year with a team of about 20 people, we have financed over $400MM in equipment with a focus on the healthcare sector, and we are hiring our first dedicated Collector to help protect a fast-growing portfolio. We move quickly, we run lean, and people here own their work.

As a Collector, you will own delinquency on a commercial equipment portfolio, working accounts anywhere from 1 to 210 days past due, from the first missed payment through cure, workout, recovery, or charge-off review. Our customers are physicians, medical practices, and other small business owners financing high-value medical equipment, so you are collecting against real, recoverable assets and working alongside the vendors who sold them. You will be one of the first collectors on a small but growing team, and as the team grows, you will have the opportunity to step into a leadership role.

Our Core Values

These core values guide how we work and who we hire:

•      Grow or Die. We believe progress is the pulse of business, and we grow ourselves, not just the company.

•      Find a Way. Obstacles are just opportunities in disguise.

•      Work Smarter. Effort matters, but thinking matters more.

•      Keep it Real. Authenticity wins, every time.

•      Do the Right Thing. Integrity isn’t optional; it’s our foundation.

•      Win Together. Aligned goals. Shared wins.

What’s In It for You

This is a ground-floor seat in a growing specialty finance company. You will learn the commercial equipment finance business from the inside, build real expertise in collections and recovery, and have the autonomy to run your own queue without someone looking over your shoulder.

Because you are one of our first collectors, the ceiling is high. Strong performers will help shape how we build the collections function, with a clear path into a leadership role as the team and the portfolio grow.

Why This Role Matters

A funded deal only pays off if it actually gets paid. Every call you make, every arrangement you negotiate, and every account you bring current protects the health of our portfolio and the capital behind it. Your work keeps good customers on track, resolves problems before they turn into losses, and protects the vendor relationships that drive our business. When you do this job well, the whole company feels it.

Who You Are

•      You are persistent and hard to rattle; a tough conversation does not throw you off

•      You read people and situations well, and you know when to push and when to listen

•      You are organized and disciplined; you work your queue every day and nothing slips

•      You are a clear, direct communicator on the phone and in writing

•      You keep your word, and you hold customers to theirs

•      You act with fairness and integrity, even in the hard conversations

•      You want to build something, not just work a queue

What You’ll Do

You will own the full collections lifecycle for a commercial equipment portfolio, including:

•      Daily collections. Work the past due queue every day through outbound calls, email, text, and written notices. Negotiate and document payment arrangements within approved parameters, hold customers to their commitments, and record every contact and promise in the servicing system.

•      Aging and delinquency reporting. Monitor 30, 60, and 90+ day aging, track cure and roll trends, and report delinquency to the Head of Funding on a regular cadence.

•      Guarantors and skip tracing. Contact and negotiate with personal guarantors, skip trace customers who go quiet, and monitor accounts for bankruptcy and other distress signals.

•      Escalation and recovery. Identify accounts that need workout, restructure, repossession, legal referral, or charge-off review, and escalate them with a complete file. Coordinate with vendor partners where equipment or installation issues are driving nonpayment, and support remarketing of recovered equipment.

•      Compliance. Follow commercial collections best practices and internal policy on all customer contact, including guarantor contact and TCPA.

•      Servicing support. Handle routine account maintenance, payoff requests, and customer inquiries as bandwidth allows, and keep servicing-system and CRM records accurate and current.

This job description is intended to describe the general nature of the role and is not an all-inclusive list of responsibilities. Duties and priorities may evolve as business needs change.

What Success Looks Like

First 30 days: You know the portfolio and the servicing system, and you are working the past due queue daily.

60 to 90 days: You are running collections independently. Delinquency is worked consistently, every contact is documented, and problems get solved and reported rather than escalated. You bring options and a recommendation instead of a question.

What You’ll Need

•      Experience in collections, loan servicing, equipment finance, or a comparable operational role. Commercial or B2B collections experience is a plus, and seasoned collectors are encouraged to apply.

•      Working knowledge of collections practices and the regulations that apply to commercial and guarantor accounts

•      Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage many open accounts at once

•      Ability to work independently and prioritize through month-end and quarter-end, when lender reporting and delinquency metrics are due

•      Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook, plus servicing and CRM platforms

Helpful but not required: equipment finance or commercial lending experience, familiarity with lease and loan documentation or UCC filings, repossession or asset recovery experience, or time on a small and fast-growing team.

Compensation & Benefits

•      Compensation commensurate with experience

•      Bonus opportunities tied to collections performance

•      100% employer-paid health insurance for employees (HDHP plan)

•      HSA with employer contribution

•      Voluntary dental, vision, life, and AD&D coverage

•      Generous time off

•      11 paid company holidays

•      A broad operational seat on a small, direct team, with room to grow as the portfolio grows
