As our Senior Government Relations Analyst, you will help shape how LEAP engages with the Department of Defense, Congress, and the broader national security ecosystem as we scale next-generation logistics and launch capabilities. You will support strategic government engagement efforts, track defense funding and policy activity, and help position LEAP programs within evolving federal priorities. This role is designed for someone who operates with ownership, urgency, and strong attention to detail in fast-moving environments. While SkillBridge participation is preferred, it is not required.

Description

Own Core Responsibilities

  • Support engagement activities with Congressional offices, DoD stakeholders, industry groups, and strategic partners
  • Monitor and analyze federal budget activity, authorization and appropriations language, policy developments, and defense modernization priorities
  • Assist in preparing briefing materials, white papers, executive summaries, and stakeholder engagement documents
  • Track government opportunities, program timelines, and legislative developments relevant to LEAP priorities
  • Support preparation for meetings, site visits, industry events, and strategic engagements
  • Conduct research on national security, aerospace, logistics, and defense acquisition trends
  • Help maintain internal trackers, action items, stakeholder databases, and engagement reporting systems
  • Coordinate across business development, executive leadership, engineering, and operations teams to align messaging and strategic priorities
  • Support long-term government growth initiatives as LEAP expands its dual-use capabilities


Produce Clear Deliverables

  • Congressional and DoD briefing materials
  • Policy and funding analysis summaries
  • Strategic stakeholder research and tracking reports
  • Executive-ready meeting prep materials and follow-up documentation
  • Opportunity tracking dashboards and engagement updates
  • Internal analyses supporting capture, partnerships, and government strategy efforts

What You Bring to the Team

  • Relevant experience in government relations, military operations, defense policy, public affairs, legislative affairs, or related environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-accountability environments with minimal oversight
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail across multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience preparing professional briefings, reports, or executive-level documentation
  • Ability to learn technical concepts, defense systems, and emerging aerospace domains quickly
  • U.S. Person status required due to the nature of the work


Bonus Points

  • Active Duty military transitioning through the DoD SkillBridge program or recently separated veteran
  • Experience supporting Congressional, DoD, acquisition, or national security organizations
  • Familiarity with the federal budget, appropriations, or authorization process
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, logistics, or dual-use technology environments
  • Experience in high-growth startups or rapidly scaling organizations

Compensation

Salary Range: $85,000 – $120,000

The estimated salary range for this role reflects various compensation factors. The final offer depends on factors such as work experience, education, training, key skills, and business needs.


In addition, LEAP provides a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, which includes:

  • Equity Program: Equity plan participation is available to all employees following an initial 90-day employment period and is performance-based. Equity allocations are determined on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed. Managers may make recommendations based on individual and team performance.
