Own Core Responsibilities
- Perform orbital and manual tube welding, CNC and manual tube bending, oxygen cleaning of hardware, and the build-up of valves, pumps, and fluid control panels; support waterflow testing of rocket engines and cryogenic testing of components.
Produce Clear Deliverables
- Certified weld joints and bent tube assemblies that meet aerospace quality standards, oxygen-clean and traceable flight/test hardware, assembled and functionally verified valves, pumps, and fluid control panels, and clear data and documentation from waterflow and cryogenic test runs.
Impacts and Outcomes
- Ensure propulsion test and flight hardware meets zero-defect quality standards before it ever reaches the test stand
- Directly enable engine test campaigns and program schedules by delivering clean, certified hardware on time
- Own build and weld quality from raw tube stock through final acceptance and functional testing
- Uphold rigorous safety and cleanliness standards for oxygen-compatible and cryogenic hardware
- Catch weld, material, or contamination risks before they become hardware failures or safety incidents
- Exercise hands-on judgment in fabrication, cleaning, and test setups within established procedures and specs
What You Bring to the Team
- Hands-on experience with orbital and/or manual TIG tube welding in an aerospace or high-reliability environment
- Skill with CNC and manual tube bending equipment, and building or testing valves, pumps, and fluid control hardware
- Experience with Swagelok, Parker, and AN fittings, including proper torque, assembly, and leak-check practices
- Familiarity with oxygen cleaning procedures, cleanliness standards, and cryogenic component testing (LOX, LN2, or similar)
- Comfort working around high-pressure systems and cryogenic fluids, with strict adherence to safety procedures
- Organized, detail-oriented approach to work and documentation, with strong communication and collaboration skills
Bonus Points
- Orbital welding certification (e.g., AWS D17.1) or formal aerospace tube welding qualification
- Prior experience in rocket propulsion, engine test operations, or a high-growth aerospace startup environment
Compensation
- Level 1 (1–3 years): $19.23 – $36.06 / hour
- Level 2 (3–5 years): $33.00 – $48.07 / hour
- Level 3 (5–9 years): $45.00 – $62.50 / hour
- Level 4 (10+ years): $50.00 – $72.12 / hour
The estimated salary range for this role reflects various compensation factors. The final offer depends on factors such as work experience, education, training, key skills, and business needs.
