Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric examination and create mental health treatment plans for patients seeking virtual mental health treatment for psychiatric diagnoses
• Participate in staff conferences and recommend appropriate treatment approaches.
• Assist in developing and organizing a program of telehealth treatment.
• Direct case conferences and Serves as a consultant to telehealth staff as necessary
• Confer with the patient's relatives regarding illness and treatment.
• Assist through consultation in establishing psychiatric programs and policies. 
• Keep medical records and prepare psychiatric reports per company documentation standards. 
• Oversee cooperative physician extenders as necessary
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Knowledge of general medicine and psychiatry; current developments in the field of psychiatry; hospital and clinic organization, management, and procedures.
• Ability to skillfully diagnose and treat severely and persistently mentally ill patients through a virtual platform.
• Ability to analyze situations and adopt an effective course of action.
• Ability to prepare records and reports.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. 
• Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

• Completion of a residency training program in psychiatry and two years of post-residency experience as a psychiatrist in a psychiatric facility required. 
• Possession of a valid license as a physician required. 
• Possession of a valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Multi-state licensure (or willingness to apply for additional licenses) strongly preferred.
• Primary license in compact state required
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses strongly preferred. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
