The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic service in a virtual telehealth setting.
Description
Duties/Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric examination and create mental health treatment plans for patients seeking virtual mental health treatment for psychiatric diagnoses
Participate in staff conferences and recommend appropriate treatment approaches.
Assist in developing and organizing a program of telehealth treatment.
Direct case conferences and Serves as a consultant to telehealth staff as necessary
Confer with the patient's relatives regarding illness and treatment.
Assist through consultation in establishing psychiatric programs and policies.
Keep medical records and prepare psychiatric reports per company documentation standards.
Oversee cooperative physician extenders as necessary
Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of general medicine and psychiatry; current developments in the field of psychiatry; hospital and clinic organization, management, and procedures.
Ability to skillfully diagnose and treat severely and persistently mentally ill patients through a virtual platform.
Ability to analyze situations and adopt an effective course of action.
Ability to prepare records and reports.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality.
Education and Experience:
Completion of a residency training program in psychiatry and two years of post-residency experience as a psychiatrist in a psychiatric facility required.
Possession of a valid license as a physician required.
Possession of a valid state driver’s license may be required.
Multi-state licensure (or willingness to apply for additional licenses) strongly preferred.
Primary license in compact state required
Willingness to obtain additional state licenses strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
