A legal assistant or paralegal on the case management team who assists attorneys and the rest of our team by guiding client matters to successful conclusion.


About the Position: 

This is a remote position, but we do require that you live in Utah.

The Legal Assistant - Junior Case Manager is a key part of the case management team. They exude quiet confidence. They are able to manage numerous tasks efficiently and manage difficult clients without losing a beat. They are instrumental to providing a good client experience and making sure cases make it to conclusion with no hiccups along the way. 

Self-motivated and hardworking, this person makes sure the job gets done by treating every client with respect, responding promptly to all client and team messages, maintaining customer satisfaction, completing tasks with complete accuracy, and being an integral team player. This person acts with ownership over client matters to make sure that everything that needs to get done is done on time. 

  • Pay: Paid twice a month, full-time salaried position.
  • Promotion within the department is a possibility as staffing needs require.

  • Location: Work remotely; no commute required. However, we do require that you live in Utah, have a strong internet connection, and have a quiet place to work between the hours of 9am and 6pm California time that fits a computer, at least one but preferably two monitors, and room for a desktop phone setup.
  • As a team, the case management team currently covers phones between the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (California time), given that certain courts and agencies only take phone calls with those hours. 
  • For all employees located in the Utah County area, we enjoy meeting up in person.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support your supervising paralegals, attorneys, and other staff.
  • Take ownership over all client matters assigned to you, to make sure that the next step is taken and that all cases have constant progression to completion. 
  • Confidently and professionally speak over the phone and correspond via written messages with clients, courts, and any others who contact us.
  • Help us manage our client and case management system
  • Always contact all clients and courts within the acceptable time frames, even if it means adjusting your work schedule on days that may have a surge. 
  • Also willing to cover for other people on your team, or sometimes on the sales team, even if it means adjusting their schedule every now and then.
  • Have integrity and be reliable and honest in your dealings with clients and our firm
  • Be available to assist as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree. We prefer Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Humanities, English, Social Work, or a similar communication or business focused liberal arts degree
  • Desire to help people move forward from their pasts
  • Mastery of the English and legal language, both written and spoken
  • 1-5 years of experience in a fast-paced position which requires managing multiple tasks and interacting with others in a professional setting. 
  • You do not need a paralegal certificate. After working for Randall & Johnson for 1 year under the supervision of our attorneys, you become a Paralegal pursuant to the California Business and Professions Code.
