Job Overview: This position is a junior law clerk position targeted at recent college graduates or those who are part way through their undergraduate studies. A partial purpose of this position is to assist those interested in the study of law to learn about the field prior to making a decision to start law school or to be a step toward deciding to work in the legal field as a paralegal or other professional. This position is meant to be shorter term with the possibility of interviewing for a law clerk position depending on performance and fit.

Location: Work remotely; no commute required. However, we do require that you live in Utah or California. Living outside of Utah requires prior approval. Position may convert to an in-office position.
The Law Clerk will be responsible for the following:
- Taking the lead on preparing court documents and court filings, including drafting briefs, memorandums, affidavits, and motions
- Communicate with attorneys with any questions and incorporate feedback into future work
- Research important legal issues
- Handle responses from opposing parties and prosecutors
- Obtain case updates from the Court on client cases and draft messages to inform client when the update is obtained
- Copiously document updates in respective Client files
- Stay in touch with your supervisor throughout the day
- Be flexible and able to assist the team with additional services as needed

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
- Mastery of the English and legal language, both written and spoken
- Preferred undergraduate majors: Humanities, English, Social Work, or similar writing-focused liberal arts degree
- Desire to help people move forward from their pasts
- 1-5 years of experience in a fast-paced position which requires managing multiple tasks and providing polished writing products preferred.

- Strong computer and internet skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Affable disposition who enjoys team camaraderie.
- Self-starter, ability to prioritize, stay on task, and work independently.
- A problem solver who strives to reduce the workload on others by finishing tasks without leaving loose ends.
- Goal-oriented and efficient, while remaining thorough and accurate.
- Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines
