Recently Admitted Attorney
Position Summary
We are seeking a recently admitted attorney to join our growing plaintiff-side litigation practice. This position offers substantial hands-on experience representing employees in workplace disputes and individuals injured by the negligence of others. The attorney will work closely with experienced litigators and will be involved in all stages of litigation, from intake and case evaluation through settlement, mediation, and trial.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated new attorney who is eager to develop litigation skills, gain courtroom experience, and advocate on behalf of individuals against employers, insurance companies, and other defendants.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Assist with all phases of employment and personal injury litigation, including case investigation, discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.
- Interview and communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Draft and respond to written discovery, meet-and-confer correspondence, and settlement communications.
- Review and analyze employment records, personnel files, payroll records, medical records, and other case-related documents.
- Prepare demand packages, mediation briefs, and case evaluations.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and client meetings.
- Assist with witness preparation and trial preparation, including exhibit and motion preparation.
- Manage caseload deadlines and maintain organized case files.
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to develop litigation strategy and maximize client outcomes.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and client communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
- Commitment to representing employees and injured individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior law clerk, externship, or internship experience in litigation.
- Familiarity with California employment laws, including FEHA, wage-and-hour laws, PAGA, retaliation, discrimination, and wrongful termination claims.
- Experience reviewing medical records and damages evidence.
- Courtroom, moot court, trial advocacy, or mock trial experience.
