Latinas Welding Guild is hiring its first full-time Grant Writer to build and lead our grants program. You’ll own our grants from prospect research to final report, turning program data and student stories into strong proposals that help open skilled-trade careers to women, Latinas, youth, and underrepresented communities in Indianapolis. Hybrid after 90 days.
The Latinas Welding Guild was established as a 501(c)3 organization in October of 2017 by Consuelo Poland, a Guatemalan-born functional artist and welder with the goal to empower women personally, creatively and economically through welding. Having seen first hand the struggles of the Latino Community, she formed the Guild to create a space of equal access and education for women, particularly minority women, in what is a heavily male-occupied field. Currently, 96% of certified welders are male and the income discrepancy between male and female welders is around 28%. The Latinas Welding Guild exists to help low to moderate income Latinas and non-Latina women gain access to welding skills and certification preparation.
You'll own LWG's grants from prospect research to final report, so our program team can focus on students. In your first year, expect to submit about 30 proposals and letters of inquiry.
Nice to have: workforce development, youth, or skilled-trades experience; government grants; bilingual Spanish and English; knowledge of Indiana funders; experience with tools like Candid, Instrumentl, or Salesforce.
Send your resume, a cover letter, and two writing samples (at least one funded grant proposal) to Consuelo at [email protected] with "Grant Writer" in the subject line. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis or until the role is filled.
