Description

Front-end Web Developer (Svelte)

Overview

Latitude, a forward-thinking research firm headquartered in Beverly, MA, is searching for a front-end web developer with 5 years of relevant experience. This developer will work with our development and marketing teams to revamp and maintain our website, as well as contribute to our interactive video SaaS platform, Lumiere.

At Latitude, we explore ways to interact with and understand video content through unique audience interactions and AI. We service some of the largest media companies in the world to help them better connect their content, brands, and audiences.

Core Areas of Responsibility

• Executing a variety of planned revisions to our company website - https://lumiere.is

• Assisting with ongoing website management needs

• Working closely with the marketing team to ensure the site remains up-to-date and on-brand

• Working closely with the development team to ensure the site’s implementation meets quality expectations

• Assisting with Lumiere application development efforts

As a front-end developer, you’ll join distributed development and marketing teams to build solutions for a modern, forward-thinking tech stack.

Our team works with Svelte and SvelteKit, but comparable experience with Reach/Vue/Angular and a desire to learn are welcome. Top-notch Javascript and CSS mastery are table stakes for this position. Experience with our backend stack (Node, GCP, Firebase) is a plus, but this role favors exceptional front-end skills and CMS integration experience.

The successful candidate for this position should demonstrate proficiency in translating design into code, following requirements, recognizing subtle (but important) details, and working carefully to create a clean design system across a library of components.

If you're excited about building a state-of-the-art website and SaaS platform, we want to hear from you. This position offers opportunities for individualized growth – and is ideal for someone who is hoping to work in a vibrant, cutting-edge company with an impressive client list in media and technology (Paramount, NBC Universal, Amazon, Disney, Roku, etc.).

Technical Qualifications

• Exceptional Javascript skills and Typescript competency

• Svelte or comparable React/Vue/Angular experience

• Headless CMS integration & data schema design experience

• CSS proficiency and a talent for clean implementation

• Deep knowledge of front-end development best practices

• Backend experience (Node, GCP, Firestore), or a willingness and capacity to learn as needed, is a plus

• Figma familiarity is a plus

Personal Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to experiment

• Strong prioritization skills and the ability to self-manage time

• Ability to work independently or collaboratively to find solutions (and the experience to know when each is needed)

• Passion for continued education and adapting to new technologies and industry trends

• Positive attitude for mentoring junior team members and participating in peer code reviews

Bonus Points

• UI design sensibility

• Next-level CSS/SVG animation experience or experience playing with web video in unique ways.

This is a 1099 position with a six-month contract to start, open to direct hire.
