Job Description: Full-Time Porter / Shop Assistant

Lago Vista Collision – Lago Vista, Texas

Position Summary

Lago Vista Collision is seeking a dependable, hardworking Full-Time Porter to help keep our collision repair facility operating efficiently. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized shop, assisting technicians, transporting vehicles, performing quality control cleaning, and ensuring customers receive their vehicles in excellent condition.

• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Primary Responsibilities

Vehicle Care

• Check in customer vehicles at drop-off by recording the mileage, fuel level, VIN, warning lights, and visible pre-existing damage.
• Photograph vehicles at drop-off and ensure all required check-in documentation is complete.
• Wash customer vehicles at drop-off when requested or needed before repairs begin.
• Label, secure, and properly store customer keys.
• Confirm personal belongings are documented and valuables are returned to the customer when appropriate.
• Wash and vacuum customer vehicles before delivery.
• Clean windows, door jambs, wheels, and interiors.
• Perform final detail touch-ups after repairs.
• Remove masking materials and compound residue.
• Park and organize vehicles throughout the repair process.
• Assist with vehicle pickups and deliveries as needed.

Shop Operations

• Keep the shop, offices, parking lot, and customer areas clean and organized.
• Sweep shop floors.
• Empty trash throughout the facility.
• Clean customer waiting area.
• Organize parts and assist with inventory.
• Dispose of cardboard and shop waste properly.
• Maintain shop equipment and report maintenance issues.

Technician Support

• Assist technicians with moving vehicles.
• Help remove or reinstall simple trim pieces under supervision.
• Check tire pressures and fluid levels before delivery.
• Assist with loading and unloading parts deliveries.
• Pick up parts from local vendors when needed.

Safety

• Maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Immediately report damaged equipment or unsafe conditions.

Customer Service

• Treat every customer's vehicle with care and respect.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Represent Lago Vista Collision positively when interacting with customers, vendors, and insurance partners.

Qualifications

Required

• Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles (preferred but not required).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred

• Previous automotive or detailing experience.
• Collision repair shop experience.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.
