Labryo Fertility Center IVF Procedure PACU RN - per diem, weekend Newport Beach, CA · Part time

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU) is responsible for providing care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery. They monitor vital signs, assess pain levels, and ensure patients are stable and comfortable as they come out of anesthesia. PACU Nurses also educate patients and their families on post-operative care and precautions. Assesses, plans, provides, and evaluates IVF and REI procedures. Works cooperatively to complete daily schedule of procedures. Exercises analytical judgement on work to be performed in the IVF lab and the REI nursing area.

IVF Procedure PACU RN

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Care:

·        Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including reviewing medical records and addressing patient concerns.

·        Obtain informed consent from patients prior to procedures, ensuring they fully understand the risks, benefits, and alternatives.

·        Administer IV medications and monitor patient vital signs during procedures.

·        Assist with patient positioning, ensuring comfort and safety.

·        Provide post-operative care, including pain management and monitoring patient recovery.

·        Educate patients on post-operative care instructions and answer any questions.

Surgical Assistance:

·        Prepare the operating room, ensuring a sterile environment.

·        Assist the physician during procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed.

·        Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any changes in condition.

Documentation:

·        Accurately document patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

·        Maintain detailed records of surgical procedures and post-operative recovery.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

●       Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of California

●       Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred

●       ACLS certification required

●       2+ years of experience in Women's Health, Fertility, or OB/GYN preferred

●       3+ years of total nursing experience

●       Strong clinical skills, including IV administration, medication administration, and patient assessment

●       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

●       Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Salary

$50 - $60 per hour
