The senior bookkeeper team lead oversees the entire monthly bookkeeping and financial reporting process for multiple entities, such as real estate investment firms and trading businesses. They lead an offshore bookkeeping team, ensure timely and precise financial reports, and assist the executive team (CEO, VP Finance) with forecasting, analysis, and financial management. Description

Bookkeeping & Month-End Close 

  • Full cycle bookkeeping for 6 entities from start to finish, including cash book, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, AP/AR, and preparation of monthly accounts.
  • Review and oversee bookkeeping for ~15 additional entities maintained by offshore bookkeepers (primarily real estate investments and 3 trading entities).
  • Prepare and deliver consolidated monthly financial packet for the group by the 10th of each month.
  • Post monthly recurring entries, amortize prepaid expenses, and reconcile all asset and liability accounts.
  • Conduct analytical review of income statements and variances.
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts.
  • Reconcile developers’ final pro formas to balance sheet and prepare monthly pay applications for contractors and bank draws.

Reconciliations & Reporting

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations; weekly credit card reconciliations and allocations.
  • Review and process payroll for 4 payrolls.
  • Review AP coding accuracy, vendor reconciliations, and approve payments.
  • Manage vendor rebates reconciliation.
  • Approve and review property owner draws (residential and commercial).
  • Reconcile CAMs and present findings to CEO/CFO.
  • Prepare monthly analysis of self-storage rentals, rate increases, and management fees for property management company.
  • Cash flow management – 36|60|90 days forecasts.


Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead daily huddles with accounting team to define priorities, resolve issues, and monitor progress.
  • Conduct weekly team huddles to review tasks and provide guidance.
  • Manage remote bookkeeping team across all entities, ensuring deliverables are accurate and timely.
  • Provide weekly updates and progress reports to CEO and VP Finance.
  • Prepare and implement SOPs for bookkeeping functions and ensure compliance with company policies.

Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain organized intra-company database and manage Dropbox filing system.
  • Oversee preparation and filing of W2s, 1099s, and management of W9 updates.
  • Review leases and property management agreements for accurate capture in Buildium.
  • Review and approve security deposit refunds, property management fees, renewal and lease fees.
  • Handle general office administration as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including multi-entity bookkeeping.
  • Strong leadership experience managing remote/offshore teams.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Buildium, Yardi etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high-quality reporting.



Salary

$60,000 - $65,000 per year
