Krannich Solar East is looking for a Senior Tax Analyst in Pennsauken, NJ to take ownership of our day-to-day tax compliance activities across multiple states. This is a hands-on role with broad exposure across the business, where you’ll partner with Finance, Operations, and external partners to help ensure compliance, identify risks, and support continuous process improvements.

You’ll play an important role in maintaining accurate tax processes, supporting audits and filings, and helping keep operations running smoothly and compliantly.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for tax compliance and related activities across the organization. You’ll help manage multi-state tax activities, support audits and filings, identify risks and opportunities for improvement, and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain accurate and compliant processes.

Sales & Use Tax - Your primary focus

• Manage multi-state sales and use tax compliance
• Review transactions to ensure taxes are applied correctly
• Maintain exemption and resale certificates
• Support use tax accruals and identify risk areas
• Review and coordinate tax filings with outside providers
• Research and resolve tax notices, discrepancies, and questions

Reconciliations & Reporting

• Reconcile tax accounts to the general ledger
• Investigate and resolve variances
• Support monthly and year-end reporting
• Track filing deadlines and keep everything on schedule

Audit & Compliance Support

• Help manage sales tax audits and documentation
• Work with auditors and state agencies to resolve inquiries
• Monitor business activity for new tax obligations across states
• Identify areas for improvement or risk and recommend solutions

Systems & Process Improvement

• Help improve tax processes and internal controls
• Partner with teams across Finance, Operations, and IT
• Support tax setup and maintenance in systems like Sage and Avalara
• Document processes and keep things organized and consistent

Additional Exposure

• Support payroll and income tax activities as needed
• Assist with registrations, licenses, and general compliance requirements

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone experienced and confident, but also adaptable and willing to jump in where needed.

• 5+ years of tax experience (sales & use tax is key)
• Experience working with multi-state tax environments
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Solid Excel skills for analysis and reconciliations
• Experience with ERP systems (Sage and Avalara are a plus)
• Background in distribution, manufacturing, wholesale, or similar industries is helpful
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams
