Development Coordinator - Nonprofit Organization

Our nonprofit organization in northeastern North Carolina is seeking a dedicated development coordinator to help us continue to build bridges of opportunity for the underserved in our community. The development coordinator will play a crucial role in overseeing fundraising efforts and developing strategies to increase revenue through individual and corporate donations, grants, and sponsorships. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about making a positive impact and has a strong background in nonprofit fundraising.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to increase revenue and support our organizational goals.

- Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and community organizations to secure gifts, sponsorships, and grants.

- Work with the communications team to create fundraising materials and campaigns that effectively communicate our mission and values to target audiences.

- Manage and oversee all donor events and campaigns, ensuring strategic planning and implementation.

- Maintain a donor database for accurate recording of gifts and effective communication and stewardship of donor relationships.

- Provide regular reports on fundraising activities and progress to senior leadership and the board of directors.


- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, marketing, or a related field.

- 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of securing donations, sponsorships, and grants.

- Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

- Proficiency in fundraising software and tools.

- Passion for social justice and community empowerment.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

- Knowledge of fundraising compliance requirements and regulations.
