Merchant Services Sales

Description

Responds to merchant inquiries originated through phone calls and other correspondence. Makes outbound service calls. Knowledgeable about various company products and services. Extensive interaction with policyholders and other direct merchant prospect and customers.

Essential Functions:

  1. Responds to merchant customer service calls to answer questions and resolve processing issues. Consults with merchants to ensure they have the most efficient and cost effective products for their needs. Provides information specific to each merchant and interacts with merchant personnel to answer customer questions and resolve issues.
  2. Promotes other company products and services and coordinates these cross sale initiatives with other business units. Refers unusual or complex problems to the Sr. Merchant Services Representative. 
  3. Utilizes various tracking and reporting systems to monitor merchant activity. Documents merchant phone conversations and inquiries on the network system. Attends periodic training including interaction with the processing service centers.
  4. Performs other related job-related duties as required.


Requirements:

Education: High school diploma. Associate or Bachelors degree preferred, but not required.


Experience: At least one year of related experience, preferably in a call center or other direct customer response. 


Skills/Mental Demands: Requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively communicate and present information to clients, managers and team members. Have strong PC skills, the ability to learn various computer systems and the merchant services business. Should have strong organizational skills, analytical and problem solving skills. Must be able to interpret data, problem-solve and have the ability to complete work with little supervision. Must be flexible and have the ability to work with a variety of tasks and employees.
