Position Summary:
As a Behavioral Technician, you are expected to provide high-quality, compassionate care to clients with developmental disabilities, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will work under the supervision of a Behavioral Analyst or Clinical Supervisor to implement individualized behavioral intervention programs. Your role involves direct client interaction, data collection, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to improve client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Implementation of Behavioral Plans:
- Implement individualized behavior support plans as directed by the Behavioral Analyst.
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy to clients in various settings, including clinics, schools, and homes.
- Data Collection and Reporting:
- Collect accurate and detailed data on client progress and behaviors during sessions.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders (e.g., clients, families, and team members) to provide updates and feedback on client progress.
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about best practices in behavioral therapy.
- Ethical and Professional Conduct:
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all interactions with clients and their families.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients during therapy sessions.
- Personal and Professional Development:
- Obtain and maintain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities and training.
- Physical Demands:
- Be prepared to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting and restraining clients when necessary.
- Be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or ASD is preferred.
- Strong observational and data collection skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help individuals improve their quality of life.
