Kidology, Inc. – Myofunctional Therapist (Pediatric Setting) – 1099 Contractor

Position Overview

Kidology, Inc. is seeking a passionate and motivated Myofunctional Therapist to join our growing pediatric therapy team as an independent contractor (1099). This role focuses on supporting children with orofacial myofunctional disorders through specialized assessment and intervention within a multidisciplinary care model.

We welcome candidates with a background as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with appropriate myofunctional training and certification.

Full-time opportunities may be available for SLP candidates based on caseload and clinic needs.


Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas

Orofacial Assessment & Clinical Scope

  • Evaluations of tongue posture, oral resting posture, breathing patterns, and swallowing function will be completed by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs).
  • RDAs with myofunctional certification will support therapy implementation under established treatment plans and appropriate clinical supervision.

Therapeutic Intervention

  • Develop and implement individualized neuromuscular re-education programs to improve tongue, lip, and jaw strength and coordination.
  • Support articulation challenges related to tongue thrust and assist in pediatric feeding development.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with orthodontists, ENTs, dentists, and internal therapy providers to support airway health and comprehensive care.

Family Education

  • Provide guidance and training to caregivers to support carryover of therapeutic strategies at home.

Qualifications

Education/Licensure

  • Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license (preferred), OR
  • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or related clinical background with relevant experience

Certification

  • Certification in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (e.g., COM®) or completion of a recognized training program strongly preferred

Skills

  • Strong understanding of orofacial anatomy and airway health
  • Excellent communication and patient engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team

Position Details

  • Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
  • Setting: Pediatric outpatient clinic / multidisciplinary therapy center
  • Schedule: Flexible, based on therapist availability and caseload
  • Compensation: RDAs (with myofunctional certification): $40–$45/hour
  • Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs): $65–$67/hour
  • Full-time SLP opportunities may be considered based on caseload availability and clinic growth
