Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests on vehicle refrigeration systems to identify issues and malfunctions.
- Repair or replace defective components, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and expansion valves.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and lubricating moving parts, to ensure optimal system performance.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems in refrigeration units and related components.
- Use specialized tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, multimeters, and refrigerant recovery machines, to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations while working with refrigerants and electrical systems.
- Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
- Provide recommendations to customers regarding the repair and maintenance of vehicle refrigeration systems.
- Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices related to auto refrigeration systems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational or technical training in automotive refrigeration systems is preferred.
- Proven experience as an auto refrigeration technician or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive refrigeration systems, including understanding of refrigerant types, system components, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Working on diesel truck preferred, not required
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues.
- Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts (up to 50 pounds).
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments (e.g., garage, outdoor repair area).
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
