Kenowa Builders is a locally owned residential building company specializing in high-end remodeling and custom homes across the Grand Rapids area. We take pride in delivering exceptional craftsmanship and outstanding customer service. We are adding a Carpenter/General Laborer to our crew to work alongside our Lead Carpenters on a range of projects.

We hire for work ethic and attitude first. If you are new to the trades, we will teach you. If you already have years on the tools, we will put your skills to work on trim, cabinetry, and custom details, and pay you for them.

What you'll do

• Assist with carpentry tasks on a variety of jobsites and projects
• Follow plans and diagrams provided by interior designers and architects
• Install trim, cabinets, wall details, and custom work
• Install exterior windows and doors
• Perform framing, exterior cladding, and trim
• Install hardware and exterior trim details (porches, window trim, etc.)
• Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
• Follow directions and complete work unsupervised
• Represent Kenowa Builders in a professional manner

What we're looking for

• A strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and pride in doing the job right
• No experience necessary for the right person. Carpentry experience is welcome and reflected in pay
• Willingness to learn from and support our Lead Carpenters
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
• Self-motivated and able to perform a wide range of construction jobs
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites around Grand Rapids

Compensation and benefits

• $24 to $35 per hour, based on experience

• Full-time, Monday to Friday, in person
• Work is on job sites across the Grand Rapids area. Our shop is in Grand Rapids and our office is in Ada
