Operations Manager - Adventure Tourism

Full-Time | Seward, Alaska

Kenai Backcountry Adventures is seeking a strong, organized, and dependable Operations Manager to help run the day-to-day office side of our business in Seward.


This is a key role focused on keeping the office organized, supporting daily operations, helping maintain staff accountability, and ensuring communication stays clear between guests, office staff, field staff, and leadership. We are looking for someone who can help create consistency, solve problems, keep priorities moving, and bring calm, professionalism, follow-through, and leadership to a fast-paced adventure tourism environment.


This is not a marketing role. It is an operations-focused office leadership role for someone who can help keep the business running smoothly day to day.


What You’ll Do

  • Oversee daily office operations, including phones, emails, guest communication, and front desk flow
  • Help ensure reservations, confirmations, payments, manifests, and guest details are accurate and up to date
  • Coordinate daily communication between office staff, guides, and leadership
  • Coordinate daily logistics for guide support, transportation, day tours, expeditions
  • Keep schedules, task flow, and office priorities organized and moving forward
  • Help hold staff accountable for professionalism, follow-through, and day-to-day expectations
  • Support hiring, onboarding, staffing coordination, and employee oversight
  • Identify operational issues early and help solve problems before they become bigger disruptions
  • Help create a more organized, efficient, and positive office environment
  • Support operational continuity during the busy summer season while also helping strengthen year-round systems

  • Guest communication and reservation details are accurate and timely
  • Staff understand expectations and follow through on responsibilities
  • Daily operations move forward with fewer fire drills and less confusion

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear, confident, and professional communication
  • Ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment
  • Good judgment, problem-solving ability, and follow-through
  • Ability to help hold people accountable and maintain a strong team culture
  • Comfort operating in a hands-on role with real responsibility
  • Experience in tourism, office management, operations coordination, hospitality, or team leadership preferred
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and modern office systems preferred


Compensation

$60,000–$72,000 annually, depending on experience.
