The Role: Junior-Assistant Guide

As a Junior-Assistant Guide, you'll be at the heart of our Hiking and Glacier programs, leading day trips and contributing to the magic of our excursions. This role serves as a launchpad for your guiding career, offering opportunities for rapid advancement within our diverse range of programs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Trip Mastery: Assist and lead day trip programs with a focus on Hiking and Glacier adventures.
  • Gear Management: Prepare, allocate, and clean gear, ensuring the seamless execution of each excursion.
  • Logistics Support: Drive, shuttle, and perform errands, contributing to the overall success of KBA's various excursions.
  • Meal Planning and Preparation: Contribute to meal planning, food preparation, and packaging for a well-fed and happy clientele.
  • Client Transportation: Safely transport clients during trips, showcasing your driving and guiding skills.
  • Facilities Upkeep: Assist with vehicle and gear maintenance, cleaning, and facilities upkeep.

Requirements:

  1. Seasonal Commitment: Available May through September.
  2. Experience: 0-3 years of relevant experience as a guide, making this the perfect role for beginners and those eager to grow.
  3. Certifications: Current Wilderness First Responder certification is a must.
  4. Physical and Mental Fitness:
  5. Ability to carry 70-100+ lb backpacks for extended periods in austere, remote environments.
  6. Stamina for long, demanding workdays.
  7. Clean Record:
  8. A clean driving record and no felonies.
