What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and support Staff and Senior Accountants
  • Review team deliverables and provide coaching to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Support training, onboarding, and ongoing professional development
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Assist with resource planning and workload management

Client Management & Advisory

  • Serve as the primary accounting contact for a portfolio of U.S.-based clients
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and trusted financial guidance
  • Lead client meetings and present financial results clearly and confidently
  • Partner with clients to improve accounting processes and financial operations
  • Escalate complex accounting issues as appropriate while driving resolution

Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes across multiple clients
  • Review financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and KPI reporting
  • Review and oversee restricted cash, trust accounting, escrow accounting, and commingled funds accounting where applicable
  • Support audits, tax-related requests, and compliance activities

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Manage workflows, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple clients and team members
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains
  • Support implementation of new systems, procedures, and best practices
  • Drive consistency and quality across accounting processes and client service delivery

Technology & Systems

  • Utilize cloud-based accounting and operational tools including QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Ramp, Rho, Expensify, Guesty, Streamline, Track, Gusto, ADP, and other business applications
  • Manage large data imports and integrations between accounting systems
  • Adapt quickly to new technologies and evolving client needs
  • Maintain strong communication and organization within a fully remote environment

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing or supervising accounting staff
  • Significant experience supporting U.S.-based clients or U.S. accounting operations
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience managing multiple clients and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experience reviewing and approving financial statements and accounting deliverables
  • Strong client-facing accounting experience
  • Advanced QuickBooks Online experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to work full-time during U.S. business hours
  • Ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • CPA or equivalent accounting certification
  • Experience in a public accounting firm, CAS practice, or outsourced accounting environment
  • Experience supporting real estate, hospitality, property management, or short-term rental clients
  • Experience with restricted cash, escrow accounting, trust accounting, or commingled funds
  • Experience with Sage Intacct and multi-entity accounting environments
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and virtual CFO services
  • Experience with Guesty, Hostaway, Streamline, Track, or other property management systems
