KAVI is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) youth development organization that aims to eliminate interpersonal violence from young people's lives.
KAVI uses healing-centered approaches that offer young people pathways to thrive. We envision a world where young people are valued as vital assets, empowered as creative problem-solvers, and embraced as partners in building safer, more just, and more connected communities. Our programs take place in hospital-based, school, and community

The next Group Leader will have the opportunity to reshape the program.
Job Description:
The Community Health & Wellness Group Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the program. This includes participant recruitment and engagement, curriculum development, workshop facilitation, program scheduling and logistics, attendance and stipend payment tracking, participant documentation, partnership development, data collection, evaluation, and funder communication. The Group Leader must be able to effectively balance direct engagement with young people and the administrative, documentation, and compliance requirements
necessary to operate high-quality youth programs:
● Oversee the daily operations and implementation of the Community Healers.
● Develop and maintain program calendars, schedules, work plans, and implementation timelines.
● Ensure program activities are delivered consistently and in alignment with KAVI’s mission, program goals, restorative justice principles, and funder requirements.
● Coordinate workshops, training, healing circles, field trips, community activities, and other program
experiences.
● Monitor program participation, engagement, and progress toward established outcomes including maintaining accurate attendance records, payment documentation, case notes, surveys, and other required
program documentation.
● Identify implementation challenges and develop timely solutions to maintain program quality and continuity.
● Develop and implement strategies to recruit, onboard, retain, and actively engage youth participants.
● Support Community Healers participants in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to facilitate healing and community-building circles.
● Incorporate experiential learning, discussion, reflection, and youth-led activities into program delivery.
● Ensure curriculum and facilitation practices reflect trauma-informed, culturally responsive, restorative, and youth-development principles.
● Manage program supplies, materials, incentives, and other program-related logistics.
● Support event planning and execution, including space coordination, participant communication, staff assignments, materials, and transportation.
● Participate in staff meetings, professional development, supervision, and organizational initiatives as required.
● Perform other duties related to the successful implementation of the programs as assigned.
● Maintain organized electronic and physical program files in accordance with KAVI policies and funder requirements.
● Ensure program implementation complies with applicable agency and contractual requirements including participation in touchpoint meetings, site visits, and programmatic reporting.
Qualifications & Competencies
● Able to engage and work with individuals and organizations of diverse backgrounds
● Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
● Solution-oriented, able to think creatively to address challenges and obstacles
● Impeccable sense of professionalism and ability to positively represent the organization
● Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite & Zoom.
● Office experience, including data entry, typing & strong phone skills.
● Excellent time management skills; the ability to coordinate and organize multiple activities.
● Flexibility and willingness to adjust and respond to changing situations.
● Interest in social and restorative justice, passion for serving communities
Work Schedule/Location
Hours: Average 9-10 hours per week depending on training session scheduled dates and time (Likely scheduled in afternoons or weekend); administrative work during business hours TBD
Location: Program location in 67th Precinct TBD, office: 147 Prince Street

Compensation: This position is budgeted for a range between $30-$35 per hour.
