Job Description:

Just 4 Kids Pediatric Dentistry is looking for a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Dental Hygienist to join our team. Our practice is dedicated to providing exceptional dental care to children aged 11-18 years with a strong emphasis on preventive care and patient education. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and teenagers while promoting lifelong oral health habits.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, removing plaque, tartar, and stains.
• Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to help prevent cavities.
• Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and overall oral hygiene habits.
• Take and review dental digital X-rays as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Assist in identifying early signs of cavities, gum disease, and other oral health issues using advanced technology such as Cari-Vu, Smart Image, and intra-oral photography.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Work closely with dentists and dental assistants to provide coordinated care.
• Create a friendly and reassuring environment to ensure a positive dental experience for young patients.
• Stay updated on the latest pediatric dental hygiene practices and technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of Virginia.
• Experience in pediatric dentistry preferred, with a minimum of 1 year in clinical practice.
• Proficiency in applying sealants and fluoride treatments.
• Strong patient education skills to help teens develop good oral hygiene habits.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and adolescents.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of Dentrix Patient Management Software is a plus.
