Our Driver Envoys are safe and professional commercial vehicle operators, yes. But, you’re also the friendly smile and warm hello, the helpful restaurant recommendation, the stranger that asks exactly the right question, the one that stops to let the pedestrian cross the street, the fun person I’d love to hang out with again. 

The Things You Do

• Create connections with our customers by showing up authentically with your whole self and demonstrating exceptionally high emotional intelligence. 
• Safely operate our 5 passenger zero carbon electric shuttles (GEM e6) picking up and dropping off passengers. Our vehicles are classified as “low-speed vehicles” and are limited to a 25mph top speed and can only operate on roads with speed limits of 35mph or less. So, you will be driving on local neighborhood roads, often with a high level of pedestrian traffic. 
• Interact with the driver’s tablet when stopped to view routing instructions and mark pickups and drop-offs. 
• Be in the know about the service area – cool events happening, that tasty new place that just opened, that perfect date night spot. Help connect our customers with the vibrant communities around them, and it’s okay to have your own opinions too! 
• Conduct safety checks and vehicle cleaning procedures at the beginning and end of each shift – take care of the small stuff, so it doesn’t become big, you know? 

The Nitty Gritty 

• 10+ years of licensed driving history is highly preferred, but previous commercial driving experience is not required. 
• Rideshare or airport/hotel shuttle experience is nice to see but know this is a different role – it's like those but turn the community and connection aspects up to 11. 
• 3+ years with no major moving violations is required. Major moving violations are things like reckless driving, hit and run, DUI/DWIs, and vehicular assault. Getting that minor speeding ticket sucked enough already, don’t sweat it. 
• This isn’t a 9-5 job, we have day, night, and peak shifts available. Night shifts can be as late as 1am. Peak shifts are short (3-4 hours) shifts that cover only our busiest times. We collaborate as a team to build schedules that work best for everyone. Plus, shift swaps are all good and easy to do with our scheduling app. 
• We conduct thorough onboarding with all new Driver Envoys to make sure you’re comfortable operating our vehicles, are familiar with the route/neighborhood, and can safely interact with the driver tablet as needed. 
• Oh, did we mention connecting with people and community building? 

The trust our customers have in us to transport them safely and respectfully is super precious and something we as a team earn every single day. We have advertising on our vehicles too, so we are also seen as representatives of those (mostly local) brands. Criminal background checks and driving history reports will be conducted with all applicants. This doesn’t mean you have to be perfect; we understand everyone makes mistakes. It does mean we must trust you with customers of all ages, abilities, and states of being and that we and our insurance carrier must be confident in your ability to safely operate our vehicles at all times. Please be upfront about any concerns you have regarding what may be on your record.

JUMP connects communities sustainably. Transportation is the largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. The majority of which are from trips in personal vehicles, with nearly 40% of those being less than 3 miles. As a community rideshare (aka "microtransit") service, JUMP enables our riders and subscribers to summon zero carbon electric shuttles on-demand, easily replacing the hassle of short car trips and stress of parking with easy, electric, and fun rides. Trips are conducted safely by our JUMP Driver Envoys, local employees with extensive knowledge of the communities we serve.
