Position Overview:


Jubilee Railroad Wilderness Lodge, (formerly Railroad Park Resort), is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to join our restaurant team. The ideal candidate will have a natural ability to connect with guests, be a pro with an espresso machine, and have weekend and holiday availability. Availability to cover or expand into weekday shifts would be a huge plus. This position offers competitive earnings through tips and base pay, with opportunities for growth based on performance. You’ll join a culinary and front of house team that's dedicated to creating a destination dining experience centered around regionally-sourced, healthy, quality foods that honor both the land and local farmers. 


Our kitchen and restaurant philosophy emphasizes relationships with regional and organic producers, reflecting our commitment to environmental stewardship and community connection. This position offers an opportunity to join our hospitality and restaurant team that is expanding and developing a 43-acre property, featuring historic caboose lodging, vintage cabins, a farm-to-table restaurant, scenic campground facilities, a year-round stream, a meadow for events, and connection to myriad hiking trails.

We are in a densely-forested, spring-fed valley, at the base of a Jurassic-period crystalline rock formation and State Park connected to the Pacific Crest Trail!


Key Responsibilities:


Drink Preparation

  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and specialty beverages to recipe standards
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment
  • Ensure drink quality, consistency, and presentation


Guest Service Excellence

  • Welcome guests with genuine warmth and professional courtesy
  • Make knowledgeable menu recommendations based on guest preferences
  • Handle customer concerns in a professional and friendly manner
  • Maintain awareness of guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience


Service Duties

  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, including modifications that communicate to the kitchen clearly through the POS system
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness of tables and service areas throughout shift
  • Deliver prepared food and drinks to customers
  • Ensure orders are correct and presented properly
  • Restock items and report low inventory


Opening/Closing Responsibilities

  • Arrive punctually 
  • Brew drip coffee and setup condiment station
  • Start a fire when appropriate, turn on lights and heaters, and unlock doors
  • Leave dining room ready for evening service
  • Clean station and espresso machine
  • Balance sales receipts and count drawer

  • Manual dexterity to carry multiple plates and service items


Additional Requirements

  • Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays
  • Food Handler's Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • 21+ to allow for service of alcoholic beverages
  • Previous barista and or service experience 


This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with variable schedules.
