The Administrative Auditor for Journey of the Heart is responsible for evaluating and assessing the organization's administrative processes, procedures, and controls to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Audit Planning and Preparation:
• Develop audit plans and objectives based on an assessment of
organizational risks and priorities.
• Gather and review relevant documentation, policies, and procedures to
prepare for audits.
• Coordinate with key stakeholders to schedule and facilitate audit activities.
2. Audit Execution:
• Conduct audits of administrative processes, procedures, and controls to
assess compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Perform testing and analysis to evaluate the adequacy of internal controls
and identify areas of non-compliance or inefficiency.
• Document audit findings, observations, and recommendations in clear and
concise reports.
3. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
• Identify and assess risks associated with administrative activities and
processes.
• Develop strategies and recommendations to mitigate identified risks and
strengthen internal controls.
• Collaborate with management to implement corrective actions and
improvements based on audit findings.
4. Compliance Monitoring and Reporting:
• Monitor compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory
requirements on an ongoing basis.
• Prepare and distribute periodic compliance reports to management and
relevant stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and support to departments to ensure adherence to
compliance standards.
5. Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within
administrative functions.
• Collaborate with management and staff to implement best practices and
streamline processes.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of process improvements and make
adjustments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Internal
Auditor, Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in auditing, compliance, or related field,
preferably in a nonprofit or healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of audit principles, practices, and techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with
individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other
relevant software applications.
• Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting a culture of
accountability and transparency.
