The role of a Civil Engineering Designer is focused on producing construction plans for water, wastewater and recycled water projects. The Civil Engineering Designer must be proactive, motivated, and responsive, and have the ability to prioritize projects and work independently and as part of the team. Additional tasks may include engaging in marketing pursuits, supporting staff development and strategic growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Civil Engineering Designer, you will utilize your expertise to assist in all aspects of water, wastewater, and recycled water projects. Duties will focus on the following:


  •  Plan the design of water infrastructure projects including pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, wells, and other related facilities.
  • Plan the design of wastewater infrastructure projects including sewer mains, force mains, and lift stations.
  • Investigate utilities to determine the location of existing underground facilities.
  • Conduct hydraulic design calculations and reports.
  • Prepare construction documents (plans and specifications).
  • Provide technical support on design issues to clients and government agencies.
  • Develop innovative, accurate, and technically sound engineering solutions.
  • Identify design alternatives for the development of new water resources.
  • Perform writing assignments to contribute to project documentation such as memos and reports.
  • Assist with quality control assurance.
  • Supervise the production of plans and specifications to support various design teams.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • EIT certification
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in water and/or wastewater design and plan production.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Able to work in the field to perform investigations and inspections

Salary

$60,000 - $90,000 per year
