As a Production Assistant at JHS Pedals, you'll help keep everything running smoothly across all areas of Pedal Production. You won't be tied to one department, instead you'll jump in wherever help is needed, whether that's picking up secondary tasks to support workflow or stepping in to help cover a department's core work directly when they need backup. No experience building pedals or working in Production? No worries! This is an entry-level position, and we'll train you on everything you need to know. You don't need to play guitar to be great at this job, either. What really matters is showing up with a strong work ethic, being reliable, staying eager to learn, and being someone people want on their team. The technical skills required in this role can be taught, but it's your character that makes you a great fit for the JHS Pedals team.

Pedal Production Assistant (Entry-Level)
Starting Pay: $17/hr + $0.50 raise every 6 months.

Schedule Requirements: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
Overtime: May be requested or required based on business needs
Classification: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Reports To: Production Supervisors
Note: This position requires the ability to travel between JHS buildings within a 2-mile radius as part of daily duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
You'll get hands-on across departments like Print, Assembly, Quality Control, Packaging, and Shipping & Receiving, helping with whatever's needed based on what's going on in Production that week: a busy SKU, a tight deadline, a department that's short-handed. Priorities can shift week to week, sometimes even day to day. Here's what that looks like in practice:
- Train and rotate across multiple Production departments as assigned by department needs.
- Assist the Print Department with case preparation and handling tasks as needed.
- Assist the Assembly Department with circuit and component preparation tasks.
- Assist the Quality Control Department with finishing and inspection-adjacent tasks.
- Assist the Packaging Department with product packaging and pedal preparation for the finished goods shelf.
- Assist the Shipping & Receiving Department with order fulfillment, and with receiving, counting, and organizing incoming supply deliveries.
- Assist with the organization of various areas of the Production Floor.
- Operate basic hand tools and equipment as needed for assigned tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including regular cleaning of tools, equipment and spaces used throughout the shift.
- Maintain accuracy and quality standards across all assigned tasks, including documentation, checklists, and production logs, flagging errors or inconsistencies to Production Supervisors.
- Communicate task status, issues, or delays to Production Supervisors.
- Maintain a respectful, cooperative working relationship with team members across all departments.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- No prior manufacturing, production, or musical/guitar experience required - we'll train you on the job.
- Ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with others, maintaining a positive and supportive attitude on the Production Floor.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and learn tasks quickly.
- Flexibility to quickly change tasks and complete other duties as assigned.
- Ability to maintain consistent, reliable attendance on a fixed schedule.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb (including occasional ladder use) or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and power tools, and may be exposed to soldering fumes. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Salary
$17 - $17 per hour
