The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Strategic Account Executives within our freight brokerage, driving sales performance, and building a high-producing sales culture.
This role requires daily coaching, accountability, and hands-on involvement with the team's book of business, while also playing a key part in shaping our sales strategy as we continue to grow. This is not a hands-off leadership role; you'll be in the trenches with your team, actively prospecting and closing business to set the standard for what great looks like.
We are looking for a leader who wants to build something. Take ownership of a growing sales team, develop talent, and directly influence the trajectory of a growing company!
Scope of Responsibilities
· Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Executives to meet and exceed individual and team sales targets
· Actively sell and prospect alongside the team, including outbound dialing and new business development, to lead by example and demonstrate what high-level performance looks like
· Monitor KPIs including load volume, net revenue, and gross revenue, and hold the team accountable to established goals
· Provide hands-on mentorship in prospecting, cold calling, account management, and closing strategies
· Support Account Executives with escalated customer issues and complex account negotiations
· Identify skill gaps and provide ongoing training to strengthen the team's sales fundamentals
· Partner with leadership on hiring, onboarding, and building out the sales team as the company scales
· Analyze sales performance data and pipeline activity to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
· Foster a competitive, high-energy sales culture that reflects our entrepreneurial mindset
· Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth handoff and support for accounts brought in by the team
Qualifications
· Proven experience in a sales leadership or management role within transportation, logistics, or freight brokerage, required
· Strong track record of personal sales success, with the ability to lead by example through active selling, not just managing from the sidelines
· Experience coaching high-volume outbound sales teams (cold calling, emailing, messaging, CRM usage)
· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Ability to analyze sales metrics and translate data into actionable coaching
· Proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to manage and develop a team independently
· Excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgment under pressure
· Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field, preferred
Compensation & Benefits
· Base salary with generous, uncapped commission structure
· Medical, Dental & Vision benefits
· 3% Safe Harbor 401k program
