Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge operates dining and sightseeing cruises along the Columbia River with departures from Cascade Locks Marine Park. A popular sternwheeler boat tour less than an hour from Portland for locals and tourists alike. An easy drive from Portland, we are a few minutes down the highway from Multnomah Falls Waterfall – Oregon’s biggest tourist attraction. You’ll find us in the Cascade Locks Marine Park overlooking the Gorge – a great destination for families, or a vacation highlight for travelers. Columbia River dining cruises are the most popular among our visitors. We have a full service bar featuring draft selections from local breweries.

JOB SUMMARY

• Greet customers and take beverage orders.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes.
• Check the identification of customers to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol.
• Provide a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with patrons.
• Keep the bar stocked and clean while always providing friendly and attentive service.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, such as setting up and breaking down the bar.
• Accurately manage till, cash bank and revenue,
• Monitor customer behavior and ensure a safe environment. Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages. Report any safety or security concerns to the Bar Manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The majority of work is performed in a bar environment with exposure to various temperatures and noise levels. The bar operation is subject to varied customer interactions and busy periods.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience is preferred

Previous bartending experience is required

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 21 years of age

Submit to and pass alcohol and drug test as mandated by local regulations, including, but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident/incident testing.

Ability to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as independently managing time and workload.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Valid Food Handler’s Permit, and/or ability to obtain and maintain

Valid Alcohol Server Permit (OLCC) and/or ability to obtain and maintain

Basic computer skills with MS Office familiarity preferred
