Job Title: Accounting Assistant - Expense Reporting & Accounts Payable/Receivable


Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to support our finance team with various accounting tasks, focusing on expense reporting, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR). The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles and a strong ability to manage financial records and transactions. This role offers a great opportunity for growth within the accounting field, and we encourage candidates who are eager to learn and contribute to a dynamic finance team.


Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in processing and reconciling expense reports.

- Maintain accurate records for accounts payable and accounts receivable.

- Verify invoices and purchase orders against expenses for proper documentation and approval.

- Process payments, ensuring compliance with company policies and deadlines.

- Handle incoming payments, cash application, and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances.

- Reconcile discrepancies in AP/AR and follow up on any discrepancies with relevant parties.

- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

- Maintain electronic filing systems for financial records.

- Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed.


Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate and or bachelors degree in accounting or finance is a plus.

- Proven experience in accounting roles is preferred.

- Basic knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel) is an advantage.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

- Experience accounting in a manufacturing environment helpful.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive financial information.
