The Old Post is looking for a multi-tasker with great people skills! The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating customers upon entering the restaurant, answering the phone to take reservations, calculating and quoting accurate wait times and assisting other staff to reduce table turn times. Keep floors, entry, and aisle ways clean and free of debris. Assist in bussing tables, when we are on a wait or in need of a table immediately. Provide guest right of way and assist guests needing directions around the restaurant. Genuinely thank all departing guests for dining with us, and welcome all guests joining us. Be familiar with all restaurant information to be able to answer any guest questions or address any concerns. Answer all phone calls and fulfill any guest needs. Be able to place calls on hold when needed or direct the call to the proper department. Communicate any important information to the managers on duty. All hosts must be familiar with our hours of operation, menu items, price range, directions, contact information, and all other basic restaurant information. In addition to restaurant specific details, the host should be able to provide information on daily menu additions, musical talent performances, and any cocktail or wine features for the evening. As a food runner, you will assist servers in getting food delivered to correct tables in a timely manner as well as refilling customer drinks and meeting customer needs from cutlery to condiments. As a barback, you will be responsible for promoting our culture of inclusivity, positivity, and profitability. You will be friendly, outgoing, and possess good communication skills. You should be organized, able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure. Take pride in personal appearance and show dedication to your job. Display integrity and honesty in all aspects of your employment. You will work with the Bartenders to make sure that the bar area is clean, stocked and ready for service at all times.
