Front of House Manager for our newly renovated restaurant The Durham- Kitchen & Cocktails in Polson, MT


We are looking for a Front of House Manager to run the service side of our restaurant in Polson MT. In this position, you will hire and train servers, bussers, and hosts/hostesses, create shift schedules, adhere to the budget, and ensure that the front-of-house (FOH) runs smoothly. You are ultimately responsible for customer satisfaction, so you must make sure your staff is providing excellent customer service. You must also facilitate a smooth line of communication between the servers and the kitchen. Our ideal candidate has several years of experience working in restaurants, preferably with some time spent in a supervisory role.

This role also includes working the floor and taking regular bartending/serving shifts during the week. Must have an availability to work evenings and weekends. Should be extremely organized and have experience in hiring a location's staff. The right candidate will lead by example and collaborate with general management on a day to day to implement restaurant best practices to further enhance the overall guest experience and restaurant sales.

Front of House Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hire and train FOH staff
  • Set and maintain a shift schedule
  • Ensuring incoming staff complies with company policy
  • Training staff to follow restaurant procedures
  • Maintaining safety and food quality standards
  • Keeping customers happy and handling complaints
  • Organizing schedules
  • Keeping track of employees’ hours
  • Recording payroll data
  • Ordering food, linens, gloves and other supplies while staying within budget limitations
  • Supervising daily shift operations
  • Ensuring all end of day cash outs are correctly completed
  • Coordinating daily front- and back-of-house restaurant operations
  • Controlling operational costs and identifying ways to cut waste
  • Appraising staff performance
  • Interviewing/recruiting new employees
  • Interacting with guests to get feedback on product quality and service levels\

Front of House Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Several years of restaurant experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership and management skills
