Multi-discipline Engineering for a Boutique Electronics Manufacturer

About JARDUM

JARDUM is an electronics and systems integrator for specialized vehicle and engine driven equipment builders. Our engineers have worked with OEMs of all sizes, helped design the products themselves, and can integrate them and customize them quickly. Our team is small, and that’s a good thing. We serve companies who need the breadth of capabilities of a large OEM, but demand the nimbleness of a small team. Partnering with manufacturers and builders of all sizes, we attack complex engine and vehicle systems head on.

Description

JARDUM is a specialized electronics engineering firm. We design ruggedized hardware and software for engine-driven equipment in the marine, industrial, and off-road sectors.

This role is for a true mechatronics engineer — someone equally comfortable in CAD, at the bench, and in a code editor. You'll design the physical parts our electronics live in and build the automated systems that prove they work. This is a hands-on position that cannot be replaced by AI.

Examples of work to be performed:

  • Mechanical Design: Design plastic components and assemblies (enclosures, brackets, bezels) for ruggedized electronics
  • Panel Design: Lay out control panels integrating displays, keypads, and switches for vehicles and equipment
  • Test Automation: Build production and design verification (DV) test systems using Raspberry Pi, Python, and C++
  • DV Test Review: Analyze design verification test results and document findings for engineering review

Skill areas needed:

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with demonstrated cross-discipline ability
  • 3D CAD experience (Solidworks, Fusion 360, or similar) — especially plastic part design
  • Programming in Python and/or C++
  • Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi or similar SBCs and lab equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with design for injection molding or 3D printing
  • Use of source control management tools such as Git
  • Familiarity with environmental/DV testing (thermal, vibration, IP ratings)
  • Familiarity with engine and vehicle communication protocols (CAN)
