We are seeking a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) who meets Georgia’s training standards to deliver exceptional personal care and companion services under the supervision of our care management team.
Position Overview
The PCA provides hands-on personal care and assistance with daily living activities while maintaining the client’s dignity and comfort. This role may also include non-medical companion and sitter tasks but does not involve the performance of nursing services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:
- Ambulation and transfers
- Bathing, toileting, grooming, shaving, dressing, and oral care
- Meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring proper nutrition
- Support clients with home safety, housekeeping, and sanitation.
- Observe and report changes in clients’ physical or emotional condition.
- Take and record vital signs as directed.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote overall well-being.
- Follow infection-control procedures and proper hygiene standards.
- Provide care for clients with special conditions within authorized scope of practice.
- Adhere to Jai Care Solutions’ policies and Georgia Department of Community Health regulations.
Training & Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following:
- ✅ Successful completion of a nurse aide training and competency evaluation program; or
- ✅ Successful completion of a competency examination for nurse aides recognized by the Georgia Department of Community Health; or
- ✅ Successful completion of a health care or personal care credentialing program approved by the Department; or
- ✅ Completion (or progress toward completion) of a 40-hour PCA training program provided by a licensed private home care provider covering:
- Ambulation and transfers, including positioning
- Bathing, toileting, grooming, shaving, dental care, dressing, and eating
- Basic first aid and CPR
- Care for clients with special conditions
- Home management, safety, and sanitation
- Infection control
- Medically related activities, including vital signs
- Proper nutrition
Other Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Current TB screening (or ability to obtain before hire)
- Fingerprint and criminal background check clearance (as required by Georgia DCH)
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
- Reliable transportation and valid Georgia driver’s license (if travel is required)
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and compassion for those in your care
Compensation
- $15.00 – $19.00 per hour, based on experience, certification, and shift type
- Mileage reimbursement for approved client travel
