Position Overview
This position provides non-emergency medical transportation only and focuses on safety, professionalism, and respectful client support. Drivers play a critical role in ensuring clients can access daily programs, community activities, and appointments while maintaining dignity, comfort, and confidentiality.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with Georgia traffic laws and company transportation policies.
- Provide non-emergency medical transportation for clients to designated locations, including:
- Adult/Elder Center programs
- Learning Center programs
- Medical offices (transport only—no medical care provided)
- Community activities and approved outings
- Assist clients entering and exiting vehicles, including those using walkers or wheelchairs, as needed.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, safety concerns, or incidents promptly to supervision.
- Maintain accurate transportation documentation, including mileage logs, schedules, and attendance records.
- Communicate respectfully with clients, families, and staff regarding transportation schedules and needs.
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company privacy policies.
- Provide a calm, supportive, and compassionate experience during all transportation services.
- Follow all JAI Care Solutions safety, health, and operational protocols.
- Assist with light non-care duties during downtime, such as errands or basic setup tasks, as assigned.
- Participate in required training sessions and staff meetings.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 20 years old.
- A clean and reliable car with working A/C and Heat is a must.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of one (1) year of driving experience; experience transporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, or program participants preferred.
- Ability to safely assist clients with mobility challenges (wheelchairs, walkers, limited mobility).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and punctuality.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Successful completion of:
- Criminal background check
- Motor vehicle record (MVR) review
- Drug screening

Work Environment
- Use of your own personal vehicle (subject to change later).
- Exposure to varying weather conditions during transportation activities.
- Requires prolonged sitting and physical assistance with client mobility when necessary.
Pay
- $14–$20/hr DOE (experience, safe driving record, and mobility support skills)
