Location: Foley, MN
Schedule:
Day Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00am – 4:30pm, Fridays as required (hours vary)
Night Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:30pm – 3:00am
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Find appropriate amounts of materials and correct tools that will allow for efficient and effective production.
- Verify dimensions or check the fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Cut, sand, and carefully adjust materials to prepare for production by using required machines such as the timesaver, CNC, belt sander, router, and all other machines and tools.
- Use machines and tools to prepare wood materials for reinforcement with nails, screws, or other fasteners.
- Attach parts together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, and/or clamps.
- Ensure accurate assemble of parts by including use of all parts, having tight seals on all seams, and correcting imperfections.
- Trim, sand, and use other methods to prepare product for finishing.
- Accurately measure, cut, surface, and create laminated countertops for assembly.
- Precisely cut, sand, and assemble doors and shelves for all cabinet production.
- Apply finishes to correct materials and ensure proper application, selection, and finishing.
- Mix finish ingredients to obtain desired colors and shades.
- Brush, spray, or hand-rub ingredients, such as paint, stain, lacquer, or other sealers.
- Select appropriate finishing products based on the type of wood and the project it coordinates with.
- Coordinate with employees to determine when a project should be finished, how long it will take, and desired finish
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- Adequate communication skills – both written and oral
- Ability to summarize and communicate orally in person or over the telephone an in written form over email.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of cabinets, countertops, and other essential pieces.
- Ability to understand project schedules and requirements.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, how to safely operate them, and perform maintenance.
- Ability to understand project schedules and requirements.
- Able to determine the tools and materials that are needed to complete a project.
- Able to manage ones time.
- Knowledge of installation methods and processes to successfully install finished products.
- Team oriented and the ability to operate with a diverse group of people.
- Ability to quickly move your arms, hands, and to manipulate objects.
- Knowledge of different types of stains and lacquers and proper staining and spraying techniques.
Requirements
- Previous cabinet experience preferred.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends when necessary
- Overtime as required
Work Conditions and Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Capable of carrying, moving, and lifting 50-80 pounds when needed.
- Able to develop their own way of doing things efficiently, able to work with little supervision, and depending on oneself to get things done.
- Ability to squat to ground level while lifting or setting down cabinets or other materials.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, and reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
- Capable of manipulating, grasping, and maneuvering tools and other materials.
- Ability to climb up and down stairs and ladders.
- Ability to correctly read a tape measure.
- Ability to lift, pull, carry, grasp, and push objects.
- Continuous exposure to contaminants such as dust, lacquer, stain, and other odors.
- Required to be around hazardous equipment that can cause bodily harm if not used properly.
- Constant exposure to loud noises and sounds.
