Through our advanced Cloud Voice platform, we empower businesses to modernize their communication infrastructure, providing unified voice, messaging, and conferencing capabilities that enhance connectivity and drive operational efficiency.

Life is short. Your relationship with IT doesn't have to be. IZT Cloud delivers Cloud Voice UCaaS, SIP trunking, and messaging services with full STIR/SHAKEN, E911, and 10DLC compliance. As Yeastar's premier US technology partner, we run a modern, multi-tenant voice platform and we're growing fast.

Job Overview

As a Level 2 Telecom Engineer in IZT Cloud, our telecommunications division, you will own the day-to-day engineering of our Cloud Voice platform. You will configure and troubleshoot SIP, maintain our SBC infrastructure, run number porting end to end, and serve as the technical escalation point between support and our development team. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, strong communication, and excellent troubleshooting skills while keeping our multi-tenant voice platform running smoothly for businesses across the continental United States. This role takes over core platform duties currently handled by another team member.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to a workplace culture consistent with IZT's mission, vision, and values
  • Displaying strong interpersonal and communication skills leading to client satisfaction
  • Configure and troubleshoot SIP trunks, endpoints, and carrier interconnects (registration, SDP/codec negotiation, NAT traversal, one-way audio, call quality)
  • Maintain and monitor our SBC and voice infrastructure
  • Manage LNP end to end: port-ins, port-outs, CSR/LOA validation, rejections, and carrier coordination with NPAC/SPID awareness
  • Administer the Cloud Voice PBX platform: tenant provisioning, routing, features, and firmware
  • Handle 10DLC campaign registration and messaging compliance (TCR, brand/campaign vetting, carrier surcharges)
  • Serve as Tier 2 escalation: reproduce issues, capture SIP traces/PCAPs, and write clear, actionable escalations for the development team
  • Support compliance operations: STIR/SHAKEN attestation, E911 provisioning, CNAM, and DNO list management
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all engineering and support activities
  • Providing on-call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members

Required Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, able to make independent choices, free from immediate direction or supervision
  • 3+ years in VoIP/telecom engineering or Tier 2 voice support
  • Strong SIP fundamentals: you can read a packet capture (Wireshark/sngrep) and pinpoint the failure
  • Hands-on SBC experience and Linux comfort
  • Working knowledge of LNP/porting workflows and carrier processes
  • Familiarity with 10DLC/A2P messaging registration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; your escalations make developers' jobs easier

Preferred Qualifications

We are willing to provide additional training for the technologies or services below, but you will need to have a solid understanding of the basics.

  • FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, or OpenSIPS experience
  • Yeastar P-Series (or similar multi-tenant PBX) administration
  • STIR/SHAKEN, E911, or telecom regulatory exposure
  • Scripting (Bash/Python) or API experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Time management skills to fully utilize your time
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
