Position Overview
My Academy is seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Elementary Quran & Islamic Education Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate has a deep love for teaching young children, a strong command of Tajweed rules, and the ability to make Islamic history, values, and practices come alive for elementary-aged students (Grades K-5).
This role requires someone who can create a joyful, patient, and welcoming classroom environment where love for Allah (SWT) and the Prophet (PBUH) is cultivated daily within the My Academy community.
Key Responsibilities
- Quranic Instruction: Teach foundational Arabic reading (e.g., Qaida Noorania) and progressive Quranic memorization (Hifz) with correct pronunciation and Tajweed rules tailored to young learners.
- Islamic Studies Curriculum: Deliver engaging lessons on Islamic manners (Akhlaq), daily supplications (Duas), basic jurisprudence (Fiqh/Prayer), and stories of the Prophets (Seerah) using age-appropriate storytelling and activities.
- Classroom Culture: Maintain a nurturing, positive, and structured classroom culture that reflects My Academy's values of kindness, respect, and active participation.
- Differentiated Learning: Adapt teaching methods to accommodate varying levels of Arabic and Quranic proficiency among students.
- Assessment & Progress Tracking: Regularly assess student memorization and understanding, keeping detailed logs of their progress and providing encouraging feedback.
- Parent Communication: Work collaboratively with My Academy families, providing regular updates on student progress and offering guidance on how parents can support learning at home.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, Arabic, Education, or a related field (or equivalent traditional Islamic seminary/Ijazah qualification).
- Quranic Proficiency: Excellent recitation of the Holy Quran with strict adherence to the rules of Tajweed. An Ijazah in memorization/recitation is highly preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience teaching elementary-aged children (Grades K-5) in a school, weekend school, or structured educational setting.
- Skills:
- Deep understanding of child development and a high level of patience and empathy.
- Ability to use creative teaching aids (e.g., Islamic songs/Nasheeds, arts and crafts, interactive digital boards).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English (fluency in Arabic is a strong asset).
