Job Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance and Boiler Operator Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in maintaining our facility's operational standards and ensuring the safety and efficiency of our mechanical and electrical equipment. Working closely with our maintenance team, the ideal candidate will oversee maintenance operations, optimize equipment performance, and continuously improve processes and procedures to support our organization's goals

General Accountabilities

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of boiler systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
  • Monitor boiler performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with boilers, HVAC systems, pumps, and other equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities, either internally or with external contractors.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and safety documentation.
  • Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and compliance metrics for management review.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support decision-making processes.
  • Lead maintenance-related projects, such as equipment upgrades, installations, or facility expansions.
  • Develop project plans, establish timelines, and allocate resources effectively to ensure successful project completion.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and obstacles, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.

Job Qualifications

  • Required License: NJ Boiler License
  • Required Experience: At least 3 years boiler operation experience
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Prefered Experience: At least 1-2 years experience with general maintenance/ handywork
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, at least two hours intervals.  
  • Must be able to work in a sitting position for an extended period of time; at least four hours.  
  • Must be able to reach for specific objects at short distances in local working areas.  
  • On occasion may be required to lift and carry heavy objects, push or pull heavy objects; kneel, bend or stoop, and ascend or descend ladders or stairs.  
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and in stressful situations.  
  • Must respond to multiple task interruptions and still provide service to internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.  
  • May require local travel to various locations on business.
