Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Line Cook to join our team and help prepare delicious meals for our customers. In this role, you will work under the guidance of our Head Chef and Sous Chef to prepare high-quality dishes that meet the restaurant's standards. You will be responsible for setting up your station, preparing ingredients, and cooking dishes according to the menu specifications. Your role is crucial in ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly during service hours by providing the necessary ingredients for the kitchen staff.


General Accountabilities:

  • Prepare Ingredients: Wash, peel, chop, dice, and slice various ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, meats, and cheeses.
  • Measure Ingredients: Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency in food quality and cost control.
  • Organize and Stock Ingredients: Keep track of inventory and ensure that all necessary ingredients are available and ready for use.
  • Assist in Cooking: Support the kitchen team by cooking basic components of dishes, such as boiling pasta, grilling chicken, or sautéing vegetables.
  • Maintain a Clean Workspace: Keep work areas clean, sanitized, and organized, following food safety guidelines.
  • Follow Food Safety Guidelines: Adhere to all food safety regulations and procedures to ensure food is prepared and stored safely.
  • Collaborate with Kitchen Staff: Work closely with chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations and timely food preparation.
  • Assist in Receiving Deliveries: Help unload and store food deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality.
  • Assist in Plating and Garnishing: Assist in plating and garnishing dishes before they are served to guests.
  • Handle Equipment: Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers, and blenders safely and efficiently.


Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role may be beneficial but not always required.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.



Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach for specific objects at short distances in local working areas.  
  • On occasion may be required to lift and carry heavy objects, push or pull heavy objects; kneel, bend or stoop, and ascend or descend ladders or stairs.  
  • Capable of working in a fast paced environment and in stressful situations.  
  • Must respond to multiple task interruptions and still provide service to internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.  


Salary

$45,000 - $50,000 per year
