The Accreditation Examiner is a part-time role within the International Council for Helplines (ICH) and reports to the Director of Accreditation & Credentialing. Serving as the lead examiner for assigned accreditation and re-accreditation reviews, this position coordinates contract co-examiners, conducts reviews and interviews, evaluates compliance with accreditation standards, and prepares accreditation findings and recommendations. The Accreditation Examiner works closely with the Accreditation Coordinator to ensure reviews are completed in accordance with established standards and timelines and, during periods of lower review activity, contributes to standards development, research, examiner calibration, quality improvement initiatives, and the development of accreditation tools and resources.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

•      Serve as the lead examiner for assigned accreditation and reaccreditation reviews, collaborating with contract co-examiners to evaluate evidence, discuss findings, and develop accreditation recommendations.

•      Review applications, component responses, policies, procedures, and supporting documentation to evaluate compliance with ICH accreditation standards.

•      Conduct virtual interviews, and other examination activities.

•      Prepare accreditation findings, recommendations, reports, and contingencies reviews.

•      Collaborate with the Accreditation Coordinator and Director of Accreditation and Credentialing to support a consistent accreditation process.

•      Participate in examiner calibration, training, and quality assurance activities.

•      Contribute to the review and development of accreditation standards, examiner guidance, and accreditation resources.

•      Conduct research and benchmarking activities to support accreditation best practices and quality improvement.

•      Develop tools, templates, self-assessment resources, training materials, and other resources that support organizations throughout the accreditation and reaccreditation process.

•      Manage and complete accreditation-related projects and special assignments as needed.

 

Required Qualifications:

•      Experience in accreditation, compliance, quality assurance, program evaluation, auditing, standards implementation, helpline operations, or a related field.

•      Experience working in the helpline and/or warmline field.

•      Strong understanding of accreditation principles, quality frameworks, or compliance systems.

•      Experience working with nonprofit, educational, healthcare, or human services organizations.

•      Ability to evaluate information objectively and apply standards consistently and fairly.                             

•      Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse stakeholders (member organizations, leaders, examiners, committees).

•      Demonstrated ability to facilitate discussions and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

•      Strong analytical, organizational, and report-writing skills with strict attention to detail.

•      Demonstrated ability to manage multiple reviews, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.

•      Ability to maintain confidentiality, impartiality, neutrality, and professional ethics in all assessment activities.

•      Ability to conduct interviews, review documentation, and prepare clear, evidence-based findings and recommendations.

•       Competency using Microsoft 365 products including excel, word, outlook, and SharePoint.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•      Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, social services, education or a related discipline

•      Working knowledge of ICH accreditation (e.g., worked for an organization who has completed an ICH accreditation). 

Salary

$22 - $22 per hour
