Description

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide assisted support for our clients so they can live fulfilling, independent, productive, and inclusive lives. You will follow individual support plans to provide each client with the needed level of support. You will assist clients in areas of personal care, home management, meal planning, shopping, employment, health maintenance, and being present and included in our neighborhoods, religious spaces, schools, community groups, and recreational activities. Successful DSP’s are compassionate, empathetic, patient, and respectful. 


Include, but not limited to:

·        Provide support to clients to ensure objectives are met in accordance with their Individual Support Plan.

·        Assist clients in areas of personal care, home management, meal planning, shopping, yard care, health maintenance, neighborhood activities, religious spaces, schools, community groups, and recreational activities.

·        Uphold client rights, both at home and in the community

·        Provide clients with Positive Behavioral Support in employment, community, and home environments.

·        Encourage and support the development of social, interpersonal, and relationship skills through modeling positive behavior.

·        Interact with clients’ family, case managers, and the public in a positive and professional manner.

·        Transport clients to various appointments, work, and to locations to meet general living needs. (I.e.: health appointments, grocery shopping, general outings, etc.)

·        Maintain Individual Client Plans and satisfy all documentation/reporting requirements

·        Administer medications as needed per each client's health plan. 

·        Document all incidents in accordance with mandated reporting requirements

·        Promote and practice teamwork through respectful interactions with other Team Members. 

·        Incorporate DDA Guiding Values: Inclusion, Status and Contributions, Relationships, Power and Choice, Health and Safety, Competence

·        Comply with agency and state policies and procedures

·        All other duties assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

 

·       High School Diploma/GED

·        At least 18-Years of Age

·        Pass Background Checks

·        Licensed WA NAR, HCA, or CNA

·        75 hours of Training

·        CPR and First Aid Certification

·        Nurse Delegation Certification

·        Completion of Training & CE’s

·        Support Clients with hygiene needs

·        Multi-house flexibility

·        Reliable Transportation

·        Auto Insurance and Registration 

·        Legal to work in the United States

·        Ability to lift 50lbs


 


Salary

$19 - $21 per hour
