The Team Lead will oversee the dedicated team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the CILA homes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves providing staff leadership and assisting the Residential manager with job duties, including but not limited to, ad hoc transporting residents to various appointments/activities, shift coverage, training, and support while fostering a positive environment that promotes individual independence and community integration.

Description

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities of the DSP team.
  • Train new staff on care protocols, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Assist in implementing individualized support plans and monitor individual’s progress.
  • Provide direct care as needed, ensuring residents’ needs are met with dignity and respect.
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities that promote socialization and skill development.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and agency policies.
  • Monitor and maintain the home environment, addressing any safety concerns promptly. 
  • Act as a point of contact for individuals, families, and external service providers.
  • Foster positive relationships within the team and with individuals.
  • Collaborate with the Residential Manager to resolve conflicts and improve team dynamics.
  • Support the implementation of quality assurance measures and individual satisfaction surveys.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of individual’s care and staff performance. 
  • Participate in audits and help ensure all standards are met.
  • Attend team meetings, in-services, and trainings as requested
  • Participate in Quality Assurance Safety meetings
  • On-call responsibilities as outlined in the On-Call policy (4|Manager Days, 3|Team Lead)
  • Provide tours to prospective residents or their families when the Residential Director and/ or Manager is not available
  • Assist with all ADL's to provide the highest quality of life and care, including, but not limited to: bathing, dressing, grooming, incontinence care, vital signs, and weights
  • Monitor and record health and behavior of residents and communicate such information with other management and staff
  • Familiarize self with the Policy and Procedure Manual; be prepared to implement its contents and/ or support the Executive Director and leadership team with implementation of its contents
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned CILA homes, ensuring they meet licensing, safety, and care standards. Conduct regular audits to ensure homes meet all safety, health, and regulatory standards.
  • Assist with budgeting for operational expenses, including supplies and facility maintenance.
  • Oversee cost management for homes while maintaining high service levels within budget constraints.
  • Work with leadership to manage financial performance and optimize resource allocation.
  • Manage environmental components of the homes (both inside & out) 
  • Issue purchase orders and manage inventory of supplies for assigned homes.
  • Provide Monthly Expense Report Per Home
  • Ensure all work order requests are scheduled and completed according to established timelines
  • Ensure environmental checklists are completed quarterly per assigned home
  • Oversee emergency preparedness supplies and materials per assigned home.

  • Review end-of-shift reports for Home needs
  • Assist with on-ground management of properties
  • Complete grocery shopping and menus in the homes.

  • All tasks and responsibilities of a DSP

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a residential or healthcare setting, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Familiarity with the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and motivate a team.

Salary
