Position Overview

Our Client is seeking an experienced Systems Software Programmer to support the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, including analysis, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance. The role involves working closely with Department staff to understand business needs, support evolving requirements (including legislative changes), and ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with Department standards.

The consultant will actively participate in Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions, design discussions, testing cycles, code reviews, and documentation efforts.

Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Maintenance

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications
• Modify and debug source code, utilities, and application packages
• Evaluate and deploy software solutions and tools
• Support enhancements driven by new business requirements and policy changes

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with business and technical teams to gather and refine requirements
• Participate in JAD sessions, sprint meetings, and technical reviews
• Ensure all deliverables meet Department standards and timelines

Testing & Implementation

• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT
• Assist in deployment and post-production support
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation
• Document system architecture, workflows, and code changes
• Provide status updates and technical reports

Preferred Experience (Highly Desired)

• Knowledge of FNW business processes
• Experience with:
• Florida Direct Certification (FDC) Application
• Florida Automated Nutrition System (FANS)
• Admin Review (AR) Application
• Partner Bridge API
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• Equivalent experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis

Experience

• 7+ years in:
• Translating functional specifications into technical solutions
• Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications
• Microsoft .NET development (Visual Studio 2019+) with SQL Server
